SSRA Combined Open Squadded Rifle Meeting 2024 - A Pictorial Record

Sunday 4th August 2024; the time had come for the Staffordshire Smallbore Rifle Association Combined Open Squadded Rifle Meeting to be the main attraction at the Chipperfield Ranges, Baldwins Gate. This annual contest of skill, nerve, and unpredictable weather conditions did not disappoint, with hopes being raised and then cruelly crushed, which all made for a very exciting day!
Added to the mix of the already testing scenario, was the very tempting presence of the on-site catering van! The glorious aromas emanating from the well presented food-outlet (AKA San's Funky Kitchen - which was expertly operated by proprietor Sandra Williams) - proved to be a very welcome addition to the day's event, serving a great range of food all through the day.
As always, a good attendance was witnessed at the meeting, and everyone was looking forward with eager anticipation to a day of exciting shooting, and the potential of taking home with them a sparkling prize or two.
And so it began; hopes were high, rifles readied, and those pesky wind-flags fluttered like a kaleidoscope of butterflies as battle commenced.
Shown below, and over the following pages, are a selection of photographs which were taken on the day, and which will hopefully serve as a happy reminder of what occurred on that special Sunday.
