The Staffordshire SRA Combined Open Squadded Rifle Meeting 2024 is almost upon us.

As the countdown continues towards the eagerly anticipated Staffordshire SRA Combined Open Squadded Rifle Meeting 2024, why not take the opportunity to register your entry in plenty of time for this year's competition.

Staffordshire SRA Combined Meeting - Standard Terms of Competition and Entry - (14th April 2019 Onwards)

 

Entry to the SSRA Combined Meeting is subject to the following Standard Terms

 

Venue

Baldwin’s Gate Ranges. These are situated on the south side of the A53 Newcastle to Market Drayton road, about half a mile west of the village of Baldwin’s Gate.

Postal address: Rifle Range, Red Hills, Baldwin’s Gate, Staffordshire ST5 5EA.

 

Course of Fire

40 shots to count at 50 metres, and 40 shots to count at 100 yards, to be shot on the B and C ranges squadded. There will be an optional competition for residents who wish to compete for the Staffordshire Residents 50 Metres Championship, plus others who wish to compete for cash prizes which will be decided according to entry, this extra card being shot on the B or D range squadded or unsquadded.

 

Targets

NSRA MM13/89 and 1003BM Three Target system. A numbering system will be used, and in the event of a tie break count back being necessary, it will be assumed that the cards have been shot (top diagrams first) in their numbered sequence.

 

Rules and Regulations

The meeting will be subject to the NSRA Rules and Regulations, unless variations are posted on the range or notified in advance. Your signature on the entry form indicates your confirmation of acceptance of these rules.

The attention of all competitors is drawn to the SSRA General Data Protection Regulations Policy, and use of your data on entry into the competition, as indicated on the competition entry form.

 

Confined Classes

Individual Staffordshire County Championship Trophies will be awarded only to bona-fide Staffordshire resident shooters (based on pre 1974 boundaries) who are members of properly constituted rifle clubs.

 

The Staffordshire 50 Metres Champion

This award will be decided by the aggregate of all 50 metres scores (ex 600).

 

Open Classes

The Come Day, Go Day Salver will be awarded to the highest scorer in the Open Competition, and there will be souvenir prizes to the top three scorers in each class, depending on entry.

 

Scoring

Scoring will be conducted by NSRA Registered Scorers under the leadership of an experienced Scorer.

Challenges to scores can be made within a reasonable time after the scores (interim or final) are posted.

When final scores are posted, a challenge time limit will be declared.

 

Ties

For the 50 Metres Championship – will be resolved by count back.

For aggregate events – by 100 yards priority (on count back if tied) and, if still not resolved, by 50 metres count back.

 

Classification

The meeting will be run in three or four classes according to entries; Class bands will be confirmed on the annual entry form, but will generally be:

Class A - 97.5 and over

Class B - 95.7 and under 97.4

Class C - 93.7 and under 95.6

Class D - 93.6 and below.

Averages based on the best 10 of the last 12 short range match cards shot should be submitted by each competitor, and countersigned by a responsible person, unless entering Class A.

Competitors who have shot in last year’s event do not need to submit an average. Winners of classes B, C and D at the previous meeting will be promoted automatically.

The organisers reserve the right to re-classify competitors if they feel that a mistake has been made in this respect.

 

Disputes

Disputes will be resolved by a Range Committee, comprising of three members of the Staffordshire Smallbore Rifle Association Committee.

 

Equipment

Ammunition will not be on sale, so be sure to bring sufficient.

Targets are secured to the frames by “Bulldog Clips” and you will need to bring these (we recommend 12). Small quantities are available on loan.

 

Results

Results will be published on the day and on the County website (http://www.staffordshire-sra.org.uk/).

Your signature on the entry form and tick in the 'option' box is considered acceptance of this.

However, if you wish your details to be withheld please mark the entry form accordingly.

 

Safety and Security

Details will be under control of a Range Officer and you are required to comply with their instructions.

Breech flags must be used, or bolts removed, at all times except when on the firing point between the 'Commence' and Cease Fire' commands.

Staffordshire Small Bore Rifle Association reminds all shooters of their obligation to ensure the safety of their rifles and ammunition at all times.

The Association also requires all shooters using their ranges carry Personal Public Liability Insurance. In effect, this means that the meeting is open to all Life and Annual and Shooting members of the NSRA, and members of Clubs affiliated to the NSRA, and any other shooter carrying a minimum of £2,000,000 Public Liability Insurance.

The meeting is covered for normal risks, but no liability can be accepted for theft or damage to personal property.

Those competitors who won Staffordshire Confined Trophies at last year's Staffordshire Combined Open Squadded Rifle Meeting are respectfully reminded to return the trophies for engraving and preparation in plenty of time for this year's meeting.
