Let Battle Commence

The Staffordshire Smallbore Rifle Association Combined Open Meeting 2016 provided its usual mix of excitement and competitiveness.

However, this year's event was somewhat shrouded in an air of sadness, due to the passing away in October 2015 of former Staffordshire Smallbore Rifle Association Vice-President - Mr Fred Jennings.

Therefore, as a mark of respect for Fred, the honour of presenting the various trophies and awards that would be handed-out later in the day were afforded to Fred's widow - Mary Jennings, who was dutifully accompanied at the event by their son Steven.

This was undoubtedly a very difficult time for Mary, who performed her duties admirably throughout the day.

Many thanks go to all of the competitors who participated in the meeting, and to all those people who were officiating at the event.  Your involvement made the event a great success. We look forward to seeing you all at next years event.

A selection of the photographs that were taken at the event are now displayed on this website.

As always, if you spot any mistakes or inaccuracies, please contact the Website Manager.
